Appasamy Indian Restaurant

We had the most delicious dosa lunch today at Appasamy’s. Indian Restaurant. The chutneys were so fresh and the paper dosa was made to perfection. Can’t recommend this little family owned restaurant enough. We happened to find this gem while visiting a friend in Markham. Will definitely travel the distance to come enjoy their fresh and tasty food again.

Very tasty food for great value. We ordered Mutton Biryani bucket, Chettinad Mutton Curry, Chili Tomato onion Uthappam some Naan and got all this. A lot of options to choose from on their menu. Definitely worth checking this place out.

I had the Sambar Vadai and Kari Thosai at Appasamy, and both were absolutely amazing! The Sambar Vadai was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and soaked up the flavorful sambar beautifully. The Kari Thosai was a real highlight – crispy, stuffed generously with tender, well-spiced meat, and served with delicious chutneys. The authentic South Indian flavors really stood out. Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving quality Indian food with that homemade taste.

Appasamy's Biryanis are our family's go to in all of Ontario! Not only is the Paneer Tikka Biryani and the Gongura Mutton Biryani so delicious, but the service is so super kind and thoughtful! The last time we picked up dinner, we forgot to take our plain basmati rice - and today when we showed to make our order, the owner remembered that we didn't take it! I always need a plain rice to help me with the spice level (note - I don't manage mild spiciness well) and he gave us the one that we forgot the last time! So super thoughtful! The Biryanis are full of flavour and so very delicious! Their presentation, even when we take it to go, is beautiful

Appasamy is a top-tier Indian eatery in Markham, offering both robust biryanis and authentic South Indian specialties, all delivered with thoughtfulness and flavor consistency. It’s especially ideal for take-out or delivery, with dishes arriving hot and well-packaged. A small dine-in setup may mean quick turnover or wait times, but it’s well worth it.

Being a hard core Biryani fan, I can say they have some of the best Biryanis and the chicken 65 kottu roti is my favorite! Tried some parottas too and they were soft and tasty. FYI it's in a food court.

The food was very delicious and portions were big enough for 4 people.I went with my husband and two daughters. Dosa and biryani’s had nice aroma. The service was great and quick. It is basically great for takeout but dine in is not bad. The staff were generous and friendly. I forgot to ask his name. He took the order and cooked since it was a quiet evening. I would love to visit again.

Tried first time . Loved the food. The flavours were amazing. Ordered chicken biriyani,podi idli and chicken appetizer. All were great in taste. Service was quick too.
